Our philosophy is very simple — manners really do matter.
Demonstrating kindness, consideration, civility, and respect toward others makes the world a better place.
Lisa Geneser is the founder and director of Manners Matter. She received her formal training and certification as an Etiquette Consultant from The Etiquette Institute, an internationally known organization recognized for excellence in training and certifying Etiquette Consultants.
Prior to founding Manners Matter, Lisa worked as a corporate consultant and trainer for Fortune 500 companies. She earned her Master’s degree in Training and Development and her Bachelor’s degree in Communication. Lisa has taught manners to children and teens, Girl Scouts, college students, corporate executives and professional organizations throughout the Chicagoland area.
Lisa believes etiquette and manners have become a lost art and is dedicating her career to teaching the tradition of etiquette while also demonstrating how etiquette has evolved to today’s world of smartphones, texting and social media. Lisa is passionate about providing a positive approach to etiquette and manners that help today’s generations enhance their business and social protocol. She is encouraged when her clients embrace the lessons she teaches and put them into practice, even more so when her own children (all teenagers) remind one another to take their elbows off the table.
Lisa resides in the Western Suburbs of Chicago with her husband and four children. She regularly presents etiquette classes at the Western Springs Recreation Center throughout the year. Details and registration information can be found here. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with her family, travel, exercise and read.
